Dr. Bela Kelemen appointed as President of European Petroleum Refiners Association

The Members of the European Petroleum Refiners Association unanimously appointed Dr. Bela Kelemen as President and Mr. Colin Crooks as Vice-President of the Association for the next two-year term.

Bela Kelemen commented, “I am honoured by this appointment, and I will endeavour to represent this industry in the best way with all stakeholders, and support our Secretariat in Brussels”. He underlined the outstanding legacy of former President Michel Bénézit, and his tremendous efforts together with the successive Director Generals to build the effectiveness of the Association and recognition of our industry.
Bela Kelemen concluded, “Michel’s contribution was paramount and I am looking forward to pursuing this work for the next two years.”

Director General John Cooper commented, “We are delighted to welcome Bela as our new President, his long-standing participation in the association as a Board member for MOL and his outstanding knowledge of our industry are two key assets for our organisation”.

Dr. Bela Kelemen is a Hungarian citizen, chemical engineer with a PhD in physical chemistry, who currently holds the position of Vice-President for Business Excellence at MOL Group, in charge of Process & Performance improvement across MOL Group’s entire asset portfolio. Bela has worked in Hungary and Slovakia.

Mr. Colin Crooks, Vice-President Downstream Strategy at SHELL, has been appointed Vice-President of the Association for the next 2-year term.
